Frequently Asked Questions
In order to help alleviate the stress that accompanies any procedure, we have provided the answers to some of the most common questions our patients ask us. If you do not find the information you are looking for, please feel free to contact us.
When will I know what time I should arrive for my procedure?
You will receive a phone call one to two days prior to your procedure that will notify you of your scheduled time. If you do not receive a call, you can reach our staff at (856) 770-1920 x112 after 2 p.m. the day prior to your procedure.
Can I drive myself home after the procedure?
No. You must have a driver over the age of 18 to drive you home after the procedure. You cannot use public transportation or a taxi. If your driver decides to leave, they must leave a phone number where they can be reached in case of any emergency. They will be called an hour before the conclusion of your procedure.
If you cannot find a driver, we usually refer patients to STAT Medical Transport Shuttle Service. For a fee, they can do a one-way or two-way trip. You have to call at least one day before to make arrangements, and you should also call to discuss the fee schedule. STAT Medical Transport’s phone number is (856) 627-0400. If you do not have a driver, your procedure will be canceled.
When is the last time I can eat and drink?
Please call your doctor for specific instructions regarding the necessary preparation for your procedure.
Please remember that in addition to food, you cannot chew gum or suck on mints or candy prior to your procedure. If you do not follow your physician’s instructions your procedure may be delayed or canceled.
When should I start my prep?
Your doctor will provide you with specific instructions leading up to your procedure.
What should I bring with me to my procedure?
You will need to bring any completed paperwork with you. You will also need to bring your insurance cards, driver’s license or other current photo ID and any referrals that you have obtained for the procedure.
How does billing work for my procedure?
Your insurance company may receive up to four bills for your stay with us. They consist of our facility fee, your physicians’ professional fee, anesthesia services and, in some cases, laboratory services. You may be responsible for a portion of these charges, as directed by your insurance company. If you have questions about any of these charges, please call the number on the bill.
