Navarro Joins in Fight Against Colon Cancer

MIAMI, Fla. (March 5, 2014) – For the second year , is joining forces with Miami-based pharmacy chain Navarro to promote colon cancer screening during National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March. The goal of the partnership is to educate consumers about the importance of colonoscopy for individuals who are at risk for colon cancer, and encourage those individuals to schedule their screening.’s educational materials will be available at Navarro pharmacies throughout March, and Navarro customers will be able to access an easy-to-use web-based appointment request tool,

In addition to the partnership, employees at each of Navarro’s 33 locations will be promoting colon cancer awareness on March 7 by participating in National Dress in Blue Day.

Screening guidelines advise that patients get a colonoscopy if they are over 50 years old (45 for African-Americans), have a family history of colon cancer or polyps or are experiencing certain digestive symptoms.
