Dr. Stacey Zavala is the newest Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to join South Jersey Gastroenterology Associates. Born and raised in Stockton, California, Dr. Zavala earned her Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree in Physiological Sciences from the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Zavala continued her medical education at University of Illinois College of Medicine and Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.

Dr. Zavala has over ten years of experience in general gastroenterology with special interest in women’s gastrointestinal issues such as constipation and abdominal pain, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and swallowing disorders. While on staff at Einstein Healthcare Network, Dr. Zavala was the Director of the GI motility laboratory, Associate Chairman of the Division of Gastroenterology and the Fellowship Program Director. Dr. Zavala has also penned several peer-reviewed publications.

She is a caring, skillful physician whose dedication to quality patient care earned her Top Doctor of Gastroenterology distinction in Philadelphia Magazine in 2019 and 2020.
